Summer Assignments – Summer 2019
TRHS Summer Assignments
2019 Summer Work
Rationale
Students will be assigned summer learning for the purpose of: helping our students avoid regression, maintain a learning mindset and remain academically connected, build home-school connections, establish lifelong learning patterns, promote personal growth, and support transitions between grade levels.
Subject Areas
Grades 6-8: Language Arts and Math
Grades 9-12: All semester 1/yearlong courses in English, Math, and Science
*Please note: AP courses have specific assignments, instructions, and grading*
Assignments
ALL summer work assignments 6-12 are posted on the TRMS and TRHS websites.
If you would like a paper copy of the assignment(s), please visit your school during summer office hours.
Due Dates
Thursday, September 5, 2019 (A Day)
Friday, September 6, 2019 (B Day)
*Assignments are due the day your class meets (September 5th/6th). If the assignment is late, it will be a loss of credit of 10% for each school day it is late, with students losing a maximum of 50% credit. Summer work will not be accepted after Thursday, September 12th, unless specified by teacher/assignment.*
Grading
Grades 6-8: Summer work will be factored into each student’s Trimester 1 grade as a separate assignment, counting 3% of the total Trimester 1 grade.
Grades 9-12: Summer work will be factored into each student’s Quarter 1 grade as a separate assignment, counting 3% of the total Quarter 1 grade.
*Please see specific AP course information for summer work weighting*
