SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE – OCTOBER 31, 2013
Hello Timberlane!
As we wind down with the first quarter I am happy to report that our school action plans are rooting themselves in our work. Our school and program leaders have done an exemplary job planning, implementing and evaluating our action plans. Later this month we will be presenting our District Action Plan to the
School Board. It is my hope that everyone will see how the district and site work are directly linked together. We will be presenting on our progress in the spring.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their work and compliance with the mosquito restrictions, especially Sandown North and our high school coaches and athletes. Keeping our children safe is not always easy work, but safety is non-negotiable, and we will continue to do everything possible to protect our children. Thanks again for your support!
The Budget process for the 2014/2015 school year has begun. We have many aggressive GOALS to deliver the absolute best experience for every child, every family in every school and program. We are asking for your support as tools and resources will be required to achieve the excellence that is not only desired, but expected at Timberlane. We will have many difficult decisions to make, but with every challenge comes an opportunity. It is my hope that we take these opportunities to make Timberlane the best School District in the State!
The Superintendents Leadership Team has begun our Instructional Rounds. We are working with building leaders to support their action plans and provide the leadership that will directly improve teaching and learning in Timberlane. I want to thank the instructional staff for their cooperation. So far I have been very impressed with our visits to the high school and middle school. Later this month we will be visiting all of our elementary schools.
I am interested in hearing from current 8th grade parents about their Timberlane experience thus far, and their plans for the fall. I will be sending a letter soon asking for feedback. I am especially interested in your choice regarding high school. Last year many families previously considering other schools chose to stay at Timberlane! It is my hope that every family will choose Timberlane. Our high school is doing outstanding work….so please take the time to learn about your high school and the outstanding direction in which we are headed. Please take the time to reach out. You are helping all Timberlane families by providing honest feedback.
High School and Middle School students will be receiving their first quarter report cards later this month. Please take the time to review their reported progress and if you have questions or concerns, please contact their school directly. I am also available to address your questions and/or concern by email at Email or by scheduling an appointment with Cathy Belcher at 603-382-6119.
Thank you again for your continued support!
