Mrs. Janet Gustafson
The Timberlane Regional School District is mourning the passing of their friend and colleague Janet Gustafson, Mrs. Gustafson worked with the students and staff of the district for the past 17 years.
JANET GUSTAFSON
Janet Gustafson, 54, of Hampstead, New Hampshire passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry after battling cancer. Janet was born in Concord, Massachusetts in 1959 and grew up in Amherst, NH. Her parents, Tom and Nancy Head also raised Janet’s older brother Charles, “Charlie”. Janet was predeceased by her Father in 2009.
Janet graduated from Milford Area Senior High School in 1977 and later earned a degree from the University of Wyoming in Parks and Recreation Administration in 1984 where she also met her husband, Bob Gustafson. Janet started her path toward a career in education in 1989 with an Elementary Certification from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While in Wisconsin, Bob and Janet started a family, raising two children, Erik and Haley, now 24 and 23 years of age, respectively. Janet later earned a Master of Education (with high distinction) from Rivier College in Nashua, NH in 2007. Her latest career path was in Curriculum and Instruction for the Timberlane Regional Middle School in Plaistow, NH where she had a passion to help kids and teachers succeed. Janet’s hobbies included skiing, movies and a good book. Janet felt a good book opened up the world to her students.
Arrangements: A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014 @ 11am at the Congregational Church in Amherst, NH on 11 Church St. More information on memorial contributions will be provided at that time. It’s not necessary to send flowers.
