WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Hello Timberlane!
I hope all of our Timberlane families enjoyed a restful, yet productive, summer. Taking the time to read and complete summer work will serve our children well as they can hit the ground running upon their return to school! It is these additional preparations that will help them get ahead!
Students will return to classes on Wednesday, August 26th. As such, I want to extend a welcome back to all staff and students. We expect it to be an exciting year with renewed energy and focus on providing the best education for our children.
To help prepare for school, parents can find the following information available on our district website as well as on each individual school’s website:
- Information about school bus routes with both pick up and drop off times.
- School day start and end times.
- Lunch menus as well as information about the school district’s policy on student lunch account balances. Please be sure to keep a positive balance on your student’s lunch account.
- Information about school supplies so that all of children arrive “worker ready.” The materials not only differ by school but by teacher as well so please make sure that your children have everything that they need for school. Assistance is available for families in need. Contact your building principal for more information.
We have had many upgrades and improvements to our facilities over the summer. I invite you to join our facility tours beginning on Thursday September 10th at the High School, PAC and Middle School; Tuesday September 15th at Danville, Sandown North and The Timberlane Learning Center at Sandown Central; and finally on Thursday September 24th at Atkinson Academy and the Pollard School. Tours begin sharply at 6 pm at the first location listed for each evening. They typically run about one half hour to forty five minutes each. Times are approximate.
In closing, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. We, at Timberlane, look forward to a productive and successful 2015-16 school year.
Dr. Earl Metzler
Superintendent of Schools
