SAU Board Extends Superintendent’s Contract to 2022

As was discussed at the May 20, 2015 SAU Board meeting, and tabled to the fall of 2015, the SAU Board at their October 7, 2015 meeting voted to extend Dr. Earl Metzler’s employment contract with SAU 55 to the year 2022. This reflects a five-year extension to his existing contract which was set to expire in 2017. As a side note, the 2017 date is an extension from his original three-year contract which was set to expire in 2015.

SAU Board Chairman Peter Bealo states, “The SAU 55 School Board is pleased to have successfully concluded the process of providing a contract extension offer to Dr. Metzler. As Board Chair, I hope he accepts the offer and stays through its entire length. It continues to be a pleasure to work with Dr. Metzler and his team.”

Dr. Metzler was informed of the board’s action and is expected to accept in principle but awaits an official contract addendum.
