Lions Clubs Step Up to Help Lead the Learning in the Fight Against Addiction – Part II
Through a generous donation from our community and in partnership with our school district, Timberlane Middle School, seventh and eighth grade students will hear an authentic message that may be one of the most important they ever hear during their time at Timberlane. On February 10, 2016 at 8:50 am, Mr. Chuck Rosa will present “Chucky’s Fight”, a personal and compelling journey of struggle and resilience around substance abuse. One grade level presentation will be held on Wednesday to help educate students on making positive decisions in their life. Mr. Rosa will share his story of struggle with substance abuse and the loss of his two sons to addiction, and how his journey to sobriety has turned into a message of hope.
Once again, we wish to thank the Atkinson Lions Club President Neil Hamel, members Dick Magoon and Greg Spero who spearheaded this initiative, as well as the club’s membership for their generous commitment and willingness to support our youth. It is organizations like the Atkinson Lions Club and the Plaistow Lions Club who understand and value the work necessary to bind our communities together while providing the very best opportunities for our students.
It is also important to note the great work of the District’s Wellness Committee, co-chaired by Sue Sherman and Susan Rasicot for their part in this endeavor which affirms the committee’s mission to promote a healthy environment in our schools and communities.
Mr. Rosa’s message was presented to high school students in December as part of this initiative and partnership
