March 2017 Election Results Are In
Congratulations to newly elected School Board members: Brian Boyle (Atkinson), Kimberly Farah (Danville) and returning member Susan Sherman (Plaistow), as well as newly elected Budget Committee members: Julie Hammond (re-elected from Atkinson), Jennifer Caruso (Danville) and Michael Mascola (Plaistow).
The election results reflect voters supporting the proposed operating budget, placing $250,000 into the Capital Reserve Fund, approving the 3-year Timberlane Support Staff Union contract, selecting an auditing firm, and having confidence in the Superintendent of Schools.
Administration looks forward to working with the newly elected officials and they extend their thanks and appreciation for the work of the Budget Committee in developing a comprehensive and respectful budget that allows them to carry out School Board supported initiatives that advance and improve the District’s educational and operational programs.
Additionally, Timberlane is fortunate to have the very best caring and dedicated support staff membership and the District is thankful to the voters for supporting their new three-year contract.
March 2017 Timberlane Voting Results
“I have been fortunate to have had the different Boards recognize the quality of our work with outstanding evaluations each year. However, having the community give me a vote of confidence is a powerful message. In politics and pedagogy, Superintendents get caught in the crossfire of elected officials pushing and pulling in different directions. I am proud to work for a community that sees through all of that and recognizes that Superintendents get put in the middle of many difficult situations. This is not a popularity contest. At the end of the day, all that really matters is that we provide our kids with a powerful education that prepares them for college and career readiness. The Timberlane community understands this. Accountability, evaluation, rigor and support drive our work and is leading to outstanding student achievement. Timberlane continues to lead the learning in New Hampshire.”
