TPAF to Discuss Competency Based Education and Reporting on March 20th
The Timberlane Regional School District will hold a meeting of the Timberlane Parent Advisory Forum (TPAF) on Monday, March 20th, 2017 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the District Office Boardroom. All parents of Timberlane students are invited to attend.
Members of the Elementary and Secondary Curriculum Teams will share and discuss “Competency Based Education and Reporting.” This topic will include information about what competencies are, where they come from, and how student achievement toward competencies will be reported to parents beginning at the elementary level in the Fall of 2017. With the implementation of new curricula at all of our Timberlane schools, K-12, it is an important time to discuss competency based education, requirements from the NH Department of Education, and best practices in reporting each student’s acquisition and application of knowledge and skills.
Looking ahead, the next TPAF meeting will be held on Monday, April 17th. A viewing of “SCREENAGERS: Parenting in a Digital World” will take place in the Timberlane Performing Arts Center at 5:00p.m. and at 7:00p.m. LIVE STREAM will not be accessible for these showings.
Parents are invited to submit future agenda topics for consideration by email to TPAF @timberlane.net. The Timberlane Parent Advisory Forum website can be accessed at https://public.timberlane.net/projects/paradv/default.aspx or by selecting Superintendent’s Advisory Committees on the TRSD website. The TPAF website will provide you with information and updates related TPAF topics, past meeting notes, a link to our email address, and more.
