School Board Authorizes Administrator Changes at the Middle and High Schools
The Timberlane Regional School Board has authorized the reorganization of administrators at the Timberlane Middle and High schools in an effort to fill key administrative positions while reducing the district’s administrator salary budget line for 2017-18.
With the anticipated vacancies of an Assistant Principal at the High School, a Principal and Assistant Principal at the Middle School, the School Board and Superintendent worked together and developed a plan to eliminate two Dean’s positions and promote select personnel to fill the Assistant Principal and Principal vacancies. This collaborated plan received unanimous support of the School Board.
To this end, the Board and Superintendent are pleased to announce the promotions of current Middle School Assistant Principal Mike Flynn to the position of Middle School Principal, current Academic Dean of FACS, Heath, PE and ICT Mitch Mencis to the positon of Middle School Assistant Principal, and Senior Academic Dean of Social Studies and Director of Alternative and Continuing Ed and Enrichment Scott Strainge to the position of Assistant Principal of the High School effective July 1, 2017. The responsibilities of the two eliminated Dean’s positions will be reassigned as appropriate.
Dr. Metzler is appreciative of the Board’s support and confidence that these administrative changes will advance the District’s efforts to increase the rigor, accountability, evaluation and support necessary to drive student achievement.
