Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Moves to the Timberlane Performing Arts Center
The Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Orchestra (MVPO) is pleased to announce its partnership with the Timberlane Regional School District. Through the collaborative efforts of MVPO music director George Monseur and Timberlane Performing Arts Center director Anthony J. DiBartolomeo, the orchestra will continue expanding its mission to perform music from varied periods and styles, while placing a continuous emphasis on educational outreach. In this new partnership, students and faculty from the Timberlane Regional School District will be featured throughout our upcoming concert seasons. The collaboration between organizations will promote artistic opportunities for our youth through training and performance.
The new season will begin November 5th in the new venue with a Gala Pops event, featuring a variety of musical styles. Included are works by Aaron Copland, Ellington, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Rimsky Korsakov’s Cappricio Espangnol, and excerpts from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story.
The orchestra will present four concerts this season: November 5, 2017, December 17, 2017, March 11, 2018, and May 13, 2018. Rehearsals are on Mondays from 7:00pm-9:30pm at the Timberlane Performing Arts Center, 40 Greenough Rd., Plaistow, NH, 03865.
