Timberlane Parent Advisory Forum to Offer Session on Diversity Awareness
The Timberlane Regional School District will hold a meeting of the Timberlane Parent Advisory Forum (TPAF) on Monday, December 11th, 2017 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the Timberlane Regional Middle School library. All parents of Timberlane students are invited to attend.
The forum will explore the importance of diversity awareness in our homes, schools, and communities. Anti-Defamation League of New England presenter, Phil Fogelman, will provide families with tips on how to engage in constructive conversations about diversity with family and friends. The forum will also highlight ways to raise children in a bias-free environment and ways to build supportive, inclusive communities. Additionally, the school district looks forward to hearing ideas from parents on ways to partner together to develop greater diversity awareness in our schools and community.
The next TPAF meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 31st. Author, Thomas R. Hoerr will be discussing how to reinforce important success skills like GRIT, EMPATHY, and INTEGRITY in the home and school, plus there will be a SIGNED BOOK GIVEAWAY!!
