Danville Invention Convention Results
During the months of January and February 2020 Danville student inventors took on the challenge of solving a problem of their choice by creating an invention. Four Danville students moved on to the Northern New England Regional Invention Convention, that unexpectedly became a virtual celebration. These 4 inventors showed grit and determination while waiting an additional 4+ weeks for information on what would happen to the NNE Regional Convention. They each rose to the challenge and created a video that showcased their invention for judges to judge their work.
- Joey Hester (gr. 4) moved on the regionals with his Sticky Broom 1000.
- Jamie Burt (gr. 5) participated in the regionals with her Keep Calm Parents 300
- Gavin Edwards (gr. 5) also “attended” the regionals virtually with his Projectile Toaster and won the Home Improvement Award.
- Aria Lobao (gr. 5) shared her invention with the judges virtually and won Best in Gr. 5 -2nd place and the Entrepreneurship Award for her Garbomatic.
Aria has been asked to represent Danville and Northern New England at the 5th Annual Invention Convention U.S. Nationals presented by United Technologies. This year’s competition will be online and hosted by Invention Convention Worldwide and The Henry Ford in Dearborn, MI. Judging for this will take place between June 3-17 with an awards announcement to follow.
Congratulations to all of our Inventors and for their dedication to excellence!
