TRHS History Book Club December/January read: Symphony for the City of the Dead
December 5, 2017
Symphony for the City of the Dead by author M.T. Anderson exposes one of the grimmest chapters in world history. Leningrad composer, Dmitri Shostakovich, so distraught by the siege of his city under German assault, dedicated his 7th symphony to the Leningrad survivors. The work remains one of Shostakovich’s best-known compositions.
The TRHS community is invited to join the History Book Club in the library on Wednesday, Jan. 24th at 2:45 p.m. for a special performance of Symphony No. 7 featuring Sarah Cronin, Sophia Duphily, Jessica Helie and Louise Pajak.
Books are available in the library and all are welcome.
