Kyle Corey, Class of 2014, originally created The Timberlane Heroes Wall to acknowledge our alumni that are decorated US military service men for his Eagle Scout project. Recently the wall, located in the lobby outside of the high school cafeteria, received a grand makeover.
Given the ongoing upkeep performed by our staff and today’s new technologies, the Timberlane administration chose to enrich what Kyle had originally created. A newly installed waterfall now flows over a piece of granite engraved with the Pledge of Allegiance, creating an area for peaceful reflection and tranquility. Each hero is remembered on a photo plaque that has been enhanced with a readable bar code that can be scanned with a QR reader. When scanned, readers are lead to a page on a district site that tells the personal story and history of each hero.
It is our hope that students, staff, and visitors will appreciate the sacrifice of these brave men and women and their families, and that they will be able to pay their respects, learn, and read about them for years to come.
